Ireland make changes for Women’s Six Nations clash against England at Twickenham

In a thrilling turn of events, Ireland has announced two changes to their starting XV for the upcoming Women’s Six Nations game against England at Twickenham. Center Aoife Dalton and second row Hannah O’Connor have been brought in to replace Enya Breen and co-captain Sam Monaghan, respectively.

The decision comes after Ireland’s impressive 36-5 victory over Wales last weekend, marking their first win of the campaign after defeats by France and Italy. This win propelled them to third place in the standings, but head coach Scott Bemand is well aware of the tough challenge that lies ahead against the defending champions and current table-toppers, England.

“We get another chance to perform as a group, in a great stadium with a big crowd. We are building some momentum in training and games. This is the kind of test we want, against the best out there,” said Bemand.

With the players showing great intent in training and fierce competition for selection, Ireland is gearing up for an exciting showdown at Twickenham. The team is determined to make these high-pressure occasions the norm and are eager to showcase their skills against top-tier competition.

The match is set to take place on Saturday, 20 April at 14:15 BST, with coverage available on BBC Two, BBC iPlayer, and online. Fans can also tune in to BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra for live commentary, as well as access text updates, highlights, and a full report on the BBC Sport website and app.

The Ireland squad for the game includes Lauren Delany, Katie Corrigan, Eve Higgins, Aoife Dalton, Beibhinn Parsons, Dannah O’Brien, Aoibheann Reilly, Linda Djougang, Neve Jones, Christy Haney, Dorothy Wall, Hannah O’Connor, Aoife Wafer, Edel McMahon, and Brittany Hogan. Replacements include Cliodhna Moloney, Niamh O’Dowd, Sadhbh McGrath, Fiona Tuite, Shannon Ikahihifo, Molly Scuffil-McCabe, Enya Breen, and Meabh Deely.
