Dramatic Draw for Blackheath in National 1 Clash against Rosslyn Park

In a thrilling match that kept fans on the edge of their seats, Blackheath managed to secure a 29-29 draw against Rosslyn Park in National 1 on Saturday. The rivalry between these two clubs, dating back to the 1880s, was evident in the scrappy and intense nature of the game.

Despite Rosslyn Park’s early lead, Blackheath fought back with determination and skill. A dramatic turnaround in the first 14 minutes of the second half saw Blackheath scoring three quick tries to take the lead. However, Rosslyn Park was not ready to give up easily, and they clawed their way back into the game with some impressive plays of their own.

With both teams giving it their all, the match came down to the wire. With Blackheath down to 13 players due to sin-binnings, it looked like Rosslyn Park had the game in their grasp. But Blackheath’s resilience shone through as they returned to full strength and launched a final assault that culminated in a well-deserved try by Andy Denham to salvage a draw.

The draw leaves Blackheath in a strong position as they head into the final round of fixtures on April 27, where they will host relegation-threatened Taunton. The team will be looking to build on their performance against Rosslyn Park and finish the season on a high note.

In other National 2 East action, Wimbledon secured a convincing 55-32 victory at home against Worthing, with Ed Morgan converting all five of the Dons’ first-half tries. The team’s try scorers included Devlin Hope, Joshua Stace, Tomasz Pozniak, Alex Kerr, and Thomas Mitchell.

Overall, it was a weekend filled with excitement and drama in the world of rugby, showcasing the passion and skill of these talented athletes.
