2024 All-Region Girls Basketball Team and Player of the Year Nominees Announced

The excitement is building as the Naples Daily News and The News-Press announce the nominees for the 2024 All-Region Girls Basketball Team and Player of the Year for the upcoming Southwest Florida Sports Awards presented by Babcock Ranch. The prestigious event will take place on Thursday, June 6 at Floria SouthWestern State College’s Suncoast Arena, where the top athletes in 30 state-sanctioned sports will be honored.

The Southwest Florida Player of the Year awards in each sport will be announced during the live show, along with the finalists and winners. The event will also recognize top teams, coaches, and overall athletes, as well as present a Courage Award to a deserving recipient.

The Southwest Florida High School Sports Awards show is part of the USA TODAY High School Sports Awards, the largest high school sports recognition program in the country.

The 2024 All-Region Girls Basketball Team members and Player of the Year nominees have been revealed. The Player of the Year award is sponsored by LCEC and the teams are sponsored by Babcock Ranch. Among the nominees are standout players like Lilly Fultz from Gulf Coast, Sofiia Kiritsa from Lely, Sophia McCartney from St. John Neumann, Zaira Mitchell from Evangelical Christian, Maddie O’Berski from Evangelical Christian, and Jadah Toombs from Evangelical Christian.
