Sky Media Announces Optimum Nutrition as Official Nutrition Partner of Sky Sports

Sky Media has announced Optimum Nutrition as the Official Nutrition Partner of Sky Sports, marking a significant milestone for the renowned sports nutrition brand. This partnership signifies Optimum Nutrition’s first foray into UK TV advertising, as they expand their marketing strategy to leverage the power of television and video on demand platforms.

The collaboration with Sky Sports will see a series of co-branded TV commercials featuring popular Sky Sports talent Micah Richards and Natalie Pinkham, alongside McLaren Racing’s Lando Norris and Optimum Nutrition’s brand ambassador Lauren James. This multisport execution aims to place Optimum Nutrition at the forefront of key moments and stories throughout an exciting summer of sport.

Brokered by Manning Gottlieb OMD, the multi-platform partnership will encompass linear TV, video on demand, short-form video on demand, and social channels. The campaign’s success will be measured through brand metrics such as awareness, saliency, and recognition, highlighting the impact of this collaboration.

Produced by Sky Media Commercial Productions, the campaign creative will include a 30-second hero TV commercial, a 10-second hero TV commercial, and two additional 10-second TV commercials focusing on football and Formula 1. These TVCs will air across various programming, including Premier League matches, the British Grand Prix, and The Open.

In addition to the media campaign, Optimum Nutrition and Sky Media will engage in a unique customer partnership, offering exclusive Sky deals to Optimum Nutrition customers and encouraging Sky customers to purchase Optimum Nutrition products at special prices.

Karin Seymour, director of client and marketing at Sky Media, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, “It’s great that we’re creating a deeper connection between sports fans and Optimum Nutrition by introducing the brand as Sky Sports’ official nutrition partner.” Meanwhile, Will Klug, head of brand at Optimum Nutrition UK, emphasized the alignment between Sky Sports viewers and Optimum Nutrition customers, highlighting the potential for a successful collaboration.
