Eric Hosmer’s MoonBall Media: Giving Players a Platform to Share Their Stories

Former MLB player Eric Hosmer is making a splash in the sports media world with his latest venture, MoonBall Media. The former All-Star and Gold Glover, who helped the Kansas City Royals win their first World Series title in 30 years, may have officially retired as a player, but he is now hoping to make an impact in the game from behind the mic.

Hosmer, who is still being paid $13 million annually for the next two seasons by the San Diego Padres, started MoonBall Media with his former Royals minor-league teammate Anthony Seratelli. The duo has big plans for the company, with Hall of Famer Cal Ripken Jr. joining as an executive producer for their latest docuseries.

The goal of MoonBall Media, according to Hosmer, is to provide a platform for players to tell their stories and discuss topics in and outside of the game freely. He recently interviewed his former teammate Tommy Pham, who is still unemployed despite his impressive performance last season.

Hosmer is passionate about addressing sensitive topics and letting players feel comfortable being themselves. He hopes that MoonBall Media can become baseball’s version of the popular “Pat McAfee Show,” providing a space for players to showcase their personalities and share their experiences with fans.

While Hosmer dreams of one day returning to baseball in a coaching or front office role, for now, he is focused on building MoonBall Media into a successful platform for players to connect with fans and share their stories. With his passion for the game and dedication to giving players a voice, it’s clear that Hosmer’s impact on baseball is far from over.
