2024 Ashland Arrows Baseball Preview
In Part 4 of Ashland County’s 2024 baseball preview, all eyes are on the Ashland Arrows as they gear up for the upcoming season. After finishing with a 12-12 record last year and placing third in the Ohio Cardinal Conference, the Arrows are determined to make a statement in 2024.
Head coach Rick Gough is optimistic about the team’s chances this year, citing a strong core of returning players as the key to their success. Seniors Luke Bryant, Logan Fulk, and Ethan Bunce will lead the team, with juniors Alex Grissinger and Michael Franz also expected to make significant contributions.
The starting rotation for the Arrows will feature Bryant, Fulk, Tyler Holt, and newcomer Miles Farnsworth. The team’s bullpen is stacked with talent, including Grissinger, Owen Shade, and CJ Cox.
Gough emphasized the importance of pitching and defense for the team’s success this season, noting that they have six returning starters on defense and nine players who will see time on the mound. The Arrows will look to cut down on strikeouts and focus on putting the ball in play to compete for an OCC championship.
With tough competition from teams like Wooster and West Holmes, the Arrows will have their work cut out for them. However, Gough is confident in his team’s abilities and believes they have what it takes to compete at a high level.
As the season approaches, all eyes will be on the Ashland Arrows as they aim to make a run for the OCC championship and beyond. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting team as they hit the field in 2024.
