Simone Biles Shines at MLB Ground with Ceremonial First Pitch
Simone Biles, the gymnastics superstar, recently stole the spotlight at an MLB game when she threw the ceremonial first pitch alongside her husband, Chicago Bears player Jonathan Owens. The event took place at the Guaranteed Rate Field, where Biles donned a Chicago White Sox jersey, a departure from her usual Houston Astros attire.
Despite her incredible success in gymnastics, Biles admitted to feeling nervous about the pitch, even more so than when performing her gravity-defying routines. She had been practicing for the moment, determined not to end up on any embarrassing fail videos circulating on the internet.
The couple’s appearance at the MLB game was not the first time they had shared the spotlight at a major sporting event. In 2019, Biles wowed the crowd at the World Series with a backflip in jeans and a jersey, before successfully throwing the ball to then-Astros player Jake Marisnick.
Biles and Owens, who met in Texas and began dating in 2020, have become a power couple in the sports world. They have been spotted supporting each other at various games and events, including the 2022 World Series.
As Biles gears up for the US Classic next month, a crucial step on her journey to the Paris Olympics, fans can expect to see more of her incredible talent and determination on display. With three major competitions ahead, Biles is focused on securing her spot for a third Olympic appearance later this year.
