KL Rahul remains calm despite two consecutive defeats, stresses need for candid discussions within LSG
Lucknow Super Giants skipper KL Rahul remains confident despite back-to-back defeats in the ongoing tournament. The team suffered an eight-wicket loss against Kolkata Knight Riders, placing them fifth on the points table with six points from six matches.
Rahul emphasized the need for candid discussions within the team to address their recent shortcomings. “Not panicking, but you can’t put your feet up and hope results will go your way. We have to figure out where we are going wrong. We will have a few difficult conversations,” he said during the post-match presentation.
Reflecting on their batting performance, Rahul highlighted the early loss of wickets as a key issue. LSG could only manage to score 161 runs, which KKR chased down comfortably in just 15.4 overs.
On the other hand, KKR captain Shreyas Iyer praised his bowlers for their exceptional performance. The team’s victory has helped them maintain the second spot on the points table with eight points from five matches.
The unbeaten partnership of 120 runs between Iyer and Phil Salt played a crucial role in KKR’s success. Salt, who scored 89 runs off 47 balls, credited the Eden Gardens pitch for making him feel at home.
Overall, both teams have shown promise in different aspects of the game, and it will be interesting to see how they bounce back in their upcoming matches.
