Former Amateur Standout Ramil “The Sharp” Macado Set to Face Undefeated Flyweight Prospect Lawrence “Shotgun” Dumam-ag for WBO Oriental Crown in Main Event of “Engkwentro 13” Fight Card

Former amateur standout Ramil “The Sharp” Macado is gearing up for the biggest challenge of his professional career as he prepares to face fellow unbeaten flyweight prospect Lawrence “Shotgun” Dumam-ag for the WBO Oriental 115-pound crown. The highly anticipated bout will headline ARQ Sports Promotions’ “Engkwentro 13” fight card on May 1 at the Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Complex.

Macado, who hails from Koronadal City, South Cotabato, burst onto the scene with an impressive amateur record that includes multiple national and international titles. His journey to the professional ranks began two years ago when he joined ARQ Stable and made a name for himself in the Philippine boxing scene.

The 28-year-old fighter made waves by winning gold at the Philippine National Games and the Private Schools Athletic Association National Games. He continued to impress with victories in international competitions in Indonesia, India, and Uzbekistan.

Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic in 2020, Macado found a new home at ARQ Gym under the guidance of sports patron Jason Arquisola. Since making his pro debut in March 2020, Macado has remained undefeated in eight bouts, with four knockouts to his name.

Now, Macado is set to face his toughest opponent yet in Dumam-ag, the reigning PBF flyweight champion. The two undefeated prospects will battle it out for the WBO Oriental flyweight title in what promises to be an exciting showdown for boxing fans.

“I am grateful for this opportunity and I am confident that I will come out victorious in this fight,” said Macado. “We have prepared extensively for this bout and I am ready to showcase my skills in the ring.”

The “Engkwentro 13” fight card is expected to draw a large crowd of boxing enthusiasts eager to witness the clash between these two rising stars in the flyweight division. Macado’s journey from amateur standout to professional contender has been nothing short of remarkable, and he is determined to make a statement in his quest for championship glory.
