Rugby League Launches New Social Channels Dedicated to Women’s Game
Rugby League is taking a big step forward in promoting the Women’s game with the launch of two brand new social channels dedicated exclusively to female players. The world’s first TikTok account run by players will give fans a unique insight into the lives of Rugby League players both on and off the pitch.
The new Instagram and TikTok channels will showcase the talent, community, and stories of women in Rugby League, with players from across the national pyramid sharing their own content. England and St Helens star, Emily Rudge, will be taking over the TikTok account, giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at the sport.
Some of the game’s biggest stars, including England Women captain Jodie Cunningham and Leeds Rhinos Caitlin Beevers, will also be featured on the channels. The goal is to celebrate and explore female stories from all areas of the game, highlighting the diversity and talent within Women’s Rugby League.
The launch of these new channels is part of Rugby League’s digital transformation, with the sport looking to become a market leader in women’s sport. The Women’s game is set for a big year, with the Betfred Women’s Super League kicking off on April 19 and the Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup Final returning to Wembley Stadium on June 8. The new national pyramid structure will give teams in the regional Championships a chance at promotion, adding excitement and competition to the Women’s Rugby League scene.
