Babil Water Sports Center Opens in Mersin, Turkey: A Hub for Water Sports and Activities
The Babil Water Sports Center has officially opened its doors in Mezitli District, offering a wide range of water sports activities for enthusiasts of all ages. The center, spanning 340 square meters, provides facilities for surfing, water skiing, sailing, canoeing, and rowing. With two separate buildings dedicated to different sports, the center aims to promote and expand water sports in the region.
The Metropolitan Municipality, responsible for the development of sports in the city, has invested in this state-of-the-art facility to encourage the practice of water sports among the youth. Certified diving and lifeguard training programs approved by the Ministry of Youth and Sports will also be offered at the center, ensuring safety and skill development for all participants.
Emrullah Taşkın, the Head of the Metropolitan Municipality Youth and Sports Services Department, expressed his excitement about the opening of the Babil Water Sports Center. He emphasized the importance of providing such facilities to the community and encouraged citizens of all ages to take advantage of the opportunities available at the center.
Cengiz Sönmez, President of the Mersin Rota Sailing Club, praised the modernity and beauty of the center, highlighting its potential to attract national and international sailing events.
