Chinook High School Winter Awards Ceremony 2023-2024: Honoring Basketball, Wrestling, and Cheerleaders
The Chinook High School winter awards ceremony was a night to remember as players from the basketball, wrestling, and cheer teams were honored for their hard work and dedication throughout the season. The event, held at the Floyd-Bowen Gymnasium, showcased the talent and achievements of the student-athletes.
In boys basketball, senior Jackson Nordboe stole the show by earning his fourth letter in the sport and winning the prestigious Tom Kezar MVP award. Nordboe also impressed with his free throw percentage of 65.7% and was recognized as an academic All-State member. On the girls’ side, senior Hallie Neibauer also earned her fourth letter and was named all-conference and all-state with an impressive free throw percentage of 61.5%. Junior Alexus Seymour joined Neibauer on the All-State list, showcasing the depth of talent on the team.
The wrestling team had its own standout performers, with sophomore Emma Klingaman earning her second letter and finishing third in her weight division at the state tournament. Klingaman was also named all-conference and academic all-state, highlighting her success both on and off the mat. Grace Buck and Walter Schoen also made their mark by finishing fourth in their respective weight classes at the state tournament.
The cheerleaders were not to be outdone, with Cecilia Ymzon, Lotus Taly, and Cheyenne Weigand earning academic All-State honors for their dedication to both academics and cheerleading.
