Cycling Champion: A Time-Trialling Specialist’s Remarkable Journey

Cameron Smith, the time-trialling specialist, has been making waves in the cycling world with his impressive performances. Most recently, Smith showcased his incredible speed and endurance at the 70.3 Iron Man event in Geelong, where he averaged an impressive 38.1 kilometres per hour over a distance of 90km.

Despite facing a major health issue, the 55-year-old has made a remarkable comeback and has been dominating the cycling scene. Smith has been participating in the Cobram-Barooga Cycling Club’s McDonald’s Super Time Trial series, where he recently took home the major prize after completing the last stage with an average speed of 43.17km/h over 18km.

In addition to his competitive endeavors, Smith has also been involved in charity rides, including the grueling Murray to Moyne 24-hour event covering a distance of 530km. His passion for cycling extends beyond just racing, as he has been an active member of the Echuca Moama club since 1994, holding various executive roles.

With a Bachelor of Science degree and a background in dairy extension, Smith has found success both on and off the bike. His dedication to the sport and his relentless pursuit of excellence make him a true inspiration to fellow cyclists.
