Fairfield University Rowing Teams Compete in Bethlehem
The Fairfield University men’s and women’s rowing teams recently traveled to Bethlehem, Pa. to take on tough competition from Lehigh, Iona, and Loyola. The teams showcased their skills and determination in a series of races that tested their endurance and teamwork.
In the men’s varsity eight event, the Stags put up a strong effort, finishing in fourth place with a time of 6:47.8. The team, consisting of talented rowers such as Michael Hamilton, Sam Elliott, and Connor Carroll, showed great potential and determination throughout the race.
The men’s second varsity eight stole the show with a match-winning time of 6:57.4, beating out Loyola and Lehigh. Led by rowers like George Voegele and Michael McCarthy, the team displayed impressive speed and coordination on the water.
The women’s varsity eight also put on a stellar performance, finishing in second place with a time of 8:11.1. Despite being edged out by Lehigh, the team showed great resilience and teamwork throughout the race.
Overall, the Fairfield University rowing teams demonstrated their skill and determination in a series of challenging races against tough competition. With upcoming races in the Knecht Cup, the teams are gearing up for more exciting opportunities to showcase their talent and passion for the sport.
