Latest NRL Contract Signings for 2024 and 2025

NRL contract season is in full swing, with over 100 players officially available to negotiate and sign with rival clubs from November last year. Joey Manu now headlines the list of talented free agents, after Jarome Luai finally revealed his next move and Ezra Mam re-signed with Brisbane. The Sporting News has all the latest official signings for 2024 and 2025 below.

Lindsay Collins re-signs with the Roosters
Already signed to the club until the end of 2026, the two-year extension ensures Collins will remain a Rooster until at least the end of the 2028 season.

“I consider myself very fortunate to put on the Sydney Roosters jersey and to represent this great club. We’ve got a great crew here and I love coming to work every day, so to know that I will be a Rooster for at least the next four years is something I’m very proud of,” said Collins.

27-year-old Collins has made 94 first grade appearances since making his NRL debut with the club in 2017 and has established himself as one of the most dominant front-rowers in the competition as a representative of both his state (Queensland) and country (Australia).

Nick Meaney re-signs with the Storm
Nick Meaney has inked a new deal which will keep him at the Melbourne Storm until at least the end of the 2026 campaign.

The versatile former Dogs star filled in admirably for Ryan Papenhuyzen at fullback last year and has since converted into a centre to accommodate his return.

“Making the move to Melbourne has been a great decision career-wise and just for life in general,” Meaney said upon the announcement of the two-year deal.

“We are delighted that Nick has extended his time with our club,” Melbourne’s General Manager of Football, Frank Ponissi, said.

“Not only is he a valuable player because of his wonderful versatility in playing in so many positions, but more impressively he has been one of our most consistent and reliable players since he debuted for the club in Round 1, 2022.”

Francis Molo re-signs with Dragons
Francis Molo has signed a two-year contract extension which will keep the 29-year-old at the club until the end of the 2026 season.

“Francis is thoroughly deserving of this extension given the way he has bought into where we are going as a team,” Shane Flanagan said.

“I am looking forward to him playing a pivotal role in our forward pack as we continue to build the roster over the coming months.”

Sam McIntyre re-signs with Cowboys
Sam McIntyre has inked a contract extension which will keep him in Townsville until at least the end of the 2026 season.

The 26-year-old joined the Cowboys mid-way through last year but struggled to establish himself as a regular until this campaign.

“Sam came to our club looking for an opportunity and has impressed everyone in the building through his professionalism, work ethic and what he’s done on the field both at Queensland Cup level and now in the NRL,” the club’s General Manager of Football Micheal Luck said.

Isaiya Katoa re-signs with Dolphins
Isaiya Katoa has re-signed with the Dolphins for three more years on a deal which will keep the Tongan international at the club until at least the end of the 2028 campaign.

The 20-year-old has played over 20 matches for Wayne Bennett’s side since his move from Penrith.

After missing out on selection for the side’s season opener this season, he was reinstated into the side and helped guide the Dolphins to their first win against the Dragons in the second round.

Taylan May inks new deal with the Panthers
Fresh off the news of fellow centre Izack Tago signing an extension, Penrith have announced that Taylan May has also re-committed to the club.

“This club and the Panthers jersey means a lot to and I’m proud to stay here for another couple years – this play is home,” the 22-year-old said after agreeing to a two-year extension.

Since making his debut in 2021, May has quickly established himself as a regular in Ivan Cleary’s all-conquering side, firstly on the wing and now in the centres.

Warriors re-sign two young stars on two-year deals
Luke Metcalf and Freddy Freddy Lussick have signed two-year contract extensions at the Warriors.

“I’m really excited to extend,” Metcalf said.

“I don’t see myself going anywhere else.

“I’m genuinely really happy here at the Warriors and here in New Zealand. My partner loves it and we have something special building, so it was a no-brainer.”

Izack Tago re-signs with Panthers
Izack Tago has signed a contract extension to remain with the Panthers until at least the end of the 2028 season.

“I’m extremely happy to re-sign with the club. Even though I was already signed here for a couple of years, it’s great to lock in my future at my home club for another few years,” Tago said.

Max King signs extension to remain at Belmore
Underrated Canterbury prop Max King has spurned interest from elsewhere to remain at the Bulldogs.

He has signed a three-year deal to continue to be a vital piece of their engine room until at least the end of the 2027 season.

Zane Tetevano joins the Bulldogs
Canterbury have announced the signing of veteran Zane Tetevano on a one-year deal.

“Zane is a highly respected senior player who will bring leadership and work ethic to our group,” Dogs supremo Phil Gould said.

The forward made his NRL debut in 2011 before later joining the Sydney Roosters and becoming a premiership player in 2018.

The 33-year-old last appeared in the NRL for Penrith until he was granted a release to join Leeds in the Super League, where he has plied his trade before the Dogs came calling.

Tuku Hau Tapuha re-signs with Cronulla
Cronulla have re-signed prop Tuku Hau Tapuha on a one-year extension on the eve of the new campaign.

Luke Keary to remain at the Roosters
Luke Keary will play on into his 13th season in the NRL next year after the veteran playmaker inked a one-year contract extension with the Roosters.

It was believed the 32-year-old was edging towards retirement after enduring some difficult times in recent years through an ACL injury and concussion issues.

However, the Roosters have agreed a new short-term deal with the five-eighth, who has played over 200 games in first grade since debuting for South Sydney in 2013, while scoring 44 tries and providing 145 assists.

Nathan Brown signs deal with the Sea Eagles
Former Parramatta enforcer Nathan Brown has signed a one-year deal with Manly after impressing Anthony Siebold over the summer while he was on a train-and-trial deal.

“I’ve loved his attitude, he’s got a bit of a point to prove so there’s been an intensity about the way he’s gone after it,” the coach said after Christian Tuipulotu’s release freed up a spot on their top 30 roster.

“His own words, not mine, he’s had two disappointing seasons and he wants to prove a couple of points that he still belongs at this level.”

Manly have re-signed promising backrower Ben Trbojevic on a three-year deal to keep him with the Sea Eagles until at least the end of the 2027 season.

“I’m really excited to be extending my time with this club,” the 23-year-old said.

“We are really excited about bringing Shawn into the Storm system,” Rodski said. “He is rated as one of the most promising younger players in the game having represented the Junior Kangaroos and NSW Under 18s.”

Meanwhile, Olam’s stay in Melbourne is over with the Papua New Guinea international heading to the Tigers to continue Benji Marshall’s rebuild.

“It is always difficult to say goodbye to players who have made such a great contribution to our club like Juzzi, but it also presents both he and Shawn a new opportunity to continue their careers in a new setting.”

Waqa Blake has left Parramatta and signed a one-year deal with St Helens in the Super League.

“I’ve definitely gotten a lot more attention than what we would have liked these past few months,” Luai told the media at a press conference he arranged.

“The purpose of this was to clear everything up and get everything out of the way out of respect and courtesy for the year ahead for my team and my teammates in 2024.

“So, without further ado, for 2025 I’ll be heading to the Wests Tigers to continue my career.”
