Imogen Roberts Signs as Professional Player for Wales Rugby Union Women’s Squad

Imogen Roberts, a level three sport student at Warrington & Vale Royal College, has recently achieved a major milestone in her athletic career by signing as a professional player for the Wales Rugby Union Women’s Squad. With this exciting opportunity, Imogen is now on track to potentially compete in the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia.

Having played rugby for over a decade, Imogen’s journey in the sport began in primary school where she represented her local club, Woolston Rovers. Her talent was quickly recognized when she joined the Warrington Wolves Under 16’s Rugby Academy and later progressed to the Under 19’s squad while attending Cardinal Newman Catholic High School.

Imogen’s dedication to the sport extends beyond her own playing career, as she has also volunteered with the Rylands Sharks Rugby League Club, coaching their under 7’s team. Her hard work and commitment to the sport paid off when she was scouted for trials for the Wales team, a prestigious opportunity for any rugby player.

After a rigorous selection process, Imogen was one of fifteen female athletes chosen to join the Wales Rugby Union Women’s Squad. Overjoyed with the news, Imogen expressed her gratitude to her college tutors and classmates for their unwavering support throughout her journey.
