Top contenders Via Sistina, Mr Brightside, Pride Of Jenni, and Cascadian will battle it out in a star-studded lineup over 2000m. Other Group 1 races include the $2 million Sydney Cup over 3200m, the Queen of the Turf Stakes, and the Australian Oaks, both worth $1 million each.

In addition to the racing action, the mid-season cut of the World Surf League Championship Tour is fast approaching as the field gets ready to tackle the Margaret River Pro. Ten male surfers have already survived the mid-season cut, including Australia’s Ethan Ewing and Jack Robinson, while Molly Picklum is the only Aussie locked in for the second half of the season on the women’s tour.

The event window for the Margaret River Pro runs from Thursday, 11 April until Sunday, 21 April, with all the action streaming live and free. Follow 7Sport on social media for the latest updates from Margaret River.
