Brentwood Prevails in Hard-Fought Match Against Dagenham
In a thrilling match played in challenging conditions, Dagenham Rugby Club narrowly lost to Brentwood in a hard-fought battle that saw both teams give it their all. Playing into a gusting wind in the first half, Dagenham faced an uphill battle to gain territory, but they didn’t let that deter them.
The game started with full-back Jordan Calverley scoring the first try for Dagenham, showcasing some excellent handling skills. However, Brentwood quickly responded with a converted try of their own to take the lead. Nat Farrell then scored a brilliant try for Dagenham, beating several defenders to level the score.
The first half was a defensive battle, with Brentwood taking advantage of the wind to keep Dagenham pinned back. Despite Dagenham’s efforts, Brentwood managed to score another try before half time to take a 12-10 lead.
The second half saw both teams fighting hard for the win, with Dagenham facing some setbacks with yellow cards. Calverley kicked a 50-metre penalty to put Dagenham ahead, but Brentwood fought back with two quick tries to extend their lead.
Dagenham managed to score a late try through Jordan Darkwa, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win. The final score stood at 29-20 in favor of Brentwood.
