Lindsey Kaufmann: Head Sailing Instructor at Eastern Shore Yacht & Country Club

Lindsey Kaufmann, a rising star in the sailing world, is gearing up to share her passion for the sport with young enthusiasts this summer as the head sailing instructor at the Eastern Shore Yacht & Country Club. With a wealth of experience both on and off the water, Kaufmann is well-equipped to inspire and educate the next generation of sailors.

Growing up in Delaware, Kaufmann developed a love for the outdoors and spent countless hours sailing, kayaking, and camping. Her introduction to sailing camps at ESY&CC, as well as in Florida and New Jersey, ignited a spark that has since grown into a full-fledged passion for the sport. “Being able to connect with others my age while having fun on the water really sparked my interest in sailing,” Kaufmann shared.

Having honed her skills at Old Dominion University’s renowned sailing program, Kaufmann has achieved impressive success as a member of the university’s sailing team. Her dedication to the sport extends beyond competition, as she also serves on the board for the Intercollegiate College Sailing Association, advocating for inclusivity and diversity within the sailing community.

With aspirations of a career in the boating industry, Kaufmann is eager to share her expertise with campers at ESY&CC this summer. The sailing camps, open to both members and non-members, offer a unique opportunity for youth to learn and develop their sailing skills under Kaufmann’s guidance.

As a certified US Sailing instructor and with a strong background in boating safety and lifeguarding, Kaufmann is well-prepared to lead the camps and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. Her enthusiasm for teaching and sharing her love of sailing is sure to make this summer’s camps at ESY&CC a memorable and enriching experience for all involved.
