New Kallang Tennis Hub to Open in Phases from 15 April 2024

The eagerly anticipated Kallang Tennis Hub is set to open its doors in phases starting from 15 April, with court bookings available to the public from 8 April. This state-of-the-art facility, announced during the Singapore Tennis Open in 2021, will be a game-changer for tennis enthusiasts in Singapore.

Located next to the Leisure Park Kallang shopping mall, the Kallang Tennis Hub boasts seven indoor courts and 12 outdoor courts. Among the indoor courts are three show courts with spectator stands, two of which are equipped with Hawk-Eye technology for accurate line calls during tournaments.

Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, Edwin Tong, took to social media to announce the commencement of court bookings at the Kallang Tennis Hub. He emphasized that the hub will serve as the home of tennis in Singapore and the national training center for TeamSG athletes.

In addition to the tennis facilities, the Kallang Tennis Hub will be part of the Kallang Alive precinct managed by Kallang Alive Sports Management (KASM). Together with the Kallang Football Hub, which is also set to open in 2024, these venues will enhance the sporting culture of the Kallang precinct.

National teams have already begun training at the Kallang Football Hub, utilizing its top-notch facilities including a football-centric gym developed by sport scientists. Minister Tong highlighted the importance of these venues in developing Singapore’s sporting talents and attracting top-tier international competitions.

With a packed calendar of events planned for 2024, including the HSBC SVNS Singapore rugby sevens tournament and performances by global music acts, the Singapore Sports Hub is poised to draw close to 1 million visitors. The opening of the Kallang Tennis Hub marks an exciting new chapter in Singapore’s sporting landscape, promising world-class facilities for athletes and enthusiasts alike.
