Ryan Kirsch Named Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Iowa Central
In a move that has been highly anticipated by the basketball community, Ryan Kirsch has been appointed as the new head men’s basketball coach at Iowa Central Community College. Kirsch will be taking over from Chad Helle, who was relieved of his duties after the 2023-24 season.
Kirsch brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having most recently served as an assistant at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Prior to that, he was an assistant at ICCAC rival school Kirkwood. With a successful track record in player development and recruiting, Kirsch is poised to lead the Tritons to new heights.
“I am honored to be chosen as the next head men’s basketball coach at Iowa Central Community College,” Kirsch said. “My family and I are eager to get to Fort Dodge, engage in the community, and get to work.”
A native of Iowa, Kirsch holds a Bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University and a Master’s from Augustana University. His coaching resume includes stints at successful programs such as Kirkwood, where he was part of three conference titles and a national championship in 2019.
“We are beyond excited that we were able to secure the services of Ryan Kirsch to lead our men’s basketball program,” said ICCC athletic director Kevin Twait. “Ryan’s track record of successful recruiting and player development will propel our program to greater heights.”
With a strong foundation in place and a vision for success, Kirsch is ready to make his mark at Iowa Central. His appointment has generated excitement among players, fans, and the community, as they eagerly await the upcoming season under his leadership.
