Saint Mary’s Softball Dominates Conference Opener with Two Wins

Saint Mary’s softball team started off their conference schedule with a bang, securing two impressive wins against St. Catherine in Winona. The Cardinals, with a record of 14-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play, showcased their dominance on the field.

Freshman pitcher Makayla Steffes also shined, pitching a shutout game with five hits allowed and one walk.

The second game was a closer affair, with both teams locked in a scoreless tie until the sixth inning. Saint Mary’s then unleashed a five-run rally, relying on small ball tactics to take a 5-0 lead.
