2024 Formula One Season Update: Record 24 Races Scheduled for Fans and Teams

The 2024 Formula One season is off to an exciting start with a record 24 races scheduled for the year. After a few changes to the calendar, including the return of the Chinese GP and Emilia-Romagna GP, fans can expect a jam-packed season full of thrilling races.

The season kicked off with the Bahrain Grand Prix on March 2, and is set to conclude in Abu Dhabi on December 8. The F1 management has made a conscious effort to regionalize the calendar, grouping events based on geographical locations to reduce logistical burdens on teams and make the season more sustainable.

Some notable changes in the schedule include moving the Japanese GP to April, the Azerbaijan GP to September, and the Qatar Grand Prix back-to-back with Abu Dhabi. The British Grand Prix is scheduled for July 5-7, which will surely be of great interest to UK F1 fans.

Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1, expressed his satisfaction with the calendar, stating that it strikes the right balance between traditional races and new venues. The focus on sustainability will continue in the coming years as part of F1’s commitment to achieving Net Zero by 2030.

The next race on the calendar is the Chinese Grand Prix on April 21, with a Sprint race scheduled the day before. For UK viewers, the main race starts at 8am local time, with coverage on Sky beginning at 7am.

With exciting races and new venues on the calendar, the 2024 Formula One season promises to be one of the most thrilling yet. Fans can look forward to a season filled with intense competition and memorable moments on the track.
