Illinois Athletics Hosts Spring Sports Fest: Schedule of Events and Promotions

Illinois Fighting Illini Athletics is gearing up for an action-packed weekend with their upcoming Spring Sports Fest from April 12-14. With 11 home events across four sports, fans are in for a treat as they cheer on their favorite teams.

The Spring Sports Fest will feature tennis, softball, baseball, and track & field competitions, giving fans plenty of opportunities to show their support. Fans are encouraged to attend multiple events and participate in the Illinois Prize Pack promotion. By picking up a punch card at any of the home events and getting card punches for each of the four sports, fans can earn themselves an Illinois Prize Pack.

The weekend kicks off on Friday, April 12 with women’s tennis facing off against Indiana at 3 PM for Mom’s Weekend. Softball will also be in action against Purdue at 5 PM for Strikeout Cancer Weekend Game #1, with giveaways including pink shakers, hats, and ribbons. Baseball will round out the day with a game against Northern Illinois at 6 PM.

Saturday, April 13 will be a full day of events, including the Gary Wieneke Memorial track & field competition. Fans can enjoy live music, a Varsity I Track & Field Reunion, and even a Kids Race. Other highlights include men’s tennis facing Northwestern at 12 PM for Mom’s Weekend and a Kid’s Clinic. Softball and baseball will also have games throughout the day, with special promotions and giveaways for fans.

The weekend will wrap up on Sunday, April 14 with more exciting matchups, including softball’s Strikeout Cancer Weekend Game #3 against Purdue and baseball’s Jackie Robinson Day game against Northern Illinois. Fans can look forward to giveaways such as gold t-shirts, ribbons, and commemorative Jackie Robinson baseballs.
