The long-awaited showdown between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk to determine the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world is finally set to take place on Saturday, 18 May at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The fight, which was delayed earlier this year due to a cut on Fury’s face, now comes with new ramifications for both fighters, including a heavy fine in case of another withdrawal.

Fury, coming off a lackluster performance against Francis Ngannou where he narrowly escaped defeat, will be looking to bounce back and reclaim his status as the top heavyweight in the world. Usyk, on the other hand, is riding high after a thrilling ninth-round stoppage of British contender Daniel Dubois and is eager to prove himself against Fury.

The winner of this historic 12-round clash could potentially face Anthony Joshua later in the year, adding even more intrigue to an already highly anticipated fight. The rematch clause in the contract could also pave the way for two undisputed fights in a matter of months.

The fight will be broadcast on TNT Sports Box Office and Sky Sports PPV, with the price yet to be finalized. However, based on previous events, fans can expect a similar price to the Fury vs Ngannou PPV, which was priced at £21.95 for HD only in the UK.

With odds favoring Fury at 4/5 and Usyk at 1/1, the stage is set for an epic battle between two of the best heavyweights in the world. The total purse for the fight is estimated to be around $150m, with Fury set to earn the lion’s share and donate a portion of his earnings to Ukraine.

The undercard features exciting matchups including Joe Cordina vs Anthony Cacace for the IBF super-featherweight title and Jai Opetaia vs Mairis Briedis for the vacant IBF cruiserweight title. With a stacked lineup and high stakes on the line, boxing fans are in for a treat on fight night.
