NIU Baseball Faces University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in Three-Game Series
The NIU baseball team is gearing up for a challenging week ahead as they hit the road to face tough opponents in the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in a three-game series. After a disappointing home sweep by Bowling Green State University last week, the Huskies are looking to bounce back and make a statement on the road.
The Huskies will first travel to Charleston to take on Eastern Illinois University before heading to Champaign for the weekend series against the Fighting Illini. The Huskies will have their work cut out for them as they face a strong Illinois team with a record of 16-13, including a 7-2 record in the Big Ten conference.
On the softball front, the NIU team is also looking to turn things around after a tough weekend. The Huskies will travel to Peoria to take on Bradley University before returning home to face the University of Toledo Rockets, the No. 2 team in the MAC. With a 9-23 record, the Huskies will need to bring their A-game to compete against these formidable opponents.
In men’s tennis, the Huskies will face Ball State University and Western Michigan University at home as they prepare for the upcoming MAC Championships. The team is looking to gain momentum and finish the regular season strong before heading into postseason play.
Women’s tennis will hit the road to take on the University of Toledo before returning home to face Bowling Green State University. With a 13-9 record, the Huskies are looking to improve their conference standing and finish the season on a high note.
Track and field will travel to Edwardsville for the Cougar Classic, while men’s golf competes in the Hawkeye Invitational in Iowa City. Women’s golf will wrap up their regular season at the Oral Roberts Spring Invite in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
