Mondo supplies custom purple track for Paris Olympics
Mondo’s Purple Track Set to Make Waves at Paris Olympics
Italian firm Mondo is gearing up to make a splash at this summer’s Paris Olympics with a custom purple track that promises to be the fastest yet for athletes vying for gold on the world stage.
Located in the picturesque town of Alba in Piedmont, Mondo has a rich history of providing top-notch tracks for Olympic events, with their first creation debuting at the 1976 Montreal Games. Now, for the upcoming Paris Olympics, they have developed the Mondotrack EB, which will be the stage for 46 out of 48 athletics events at the iconic Stade de France.
The track, which boasts a striking purple hue, is set to welcome some of the biggest names in athletics, including reigning women’s world 100m champion Sha’Carri Richardson. Mondo claims that their latest creation offers even better performance than the track used at the Tokyo Olympics, where multiple world records were shattered.
“We have made significant improvements to the design of the track to enhance athletes’ performance,” said Maurizio Stroppiana, vice-president of Mondo’s sports division.
Despite the eye-catching color, the track is also environmentally friendly, with up to 50 percent of its components being renewable or recycled. This commitment to sustainability aligns with Mondo’s goal of creating tracks that prioritize both performance and athlete safety.
With the Paris Olympics just around the corner, all eyes will be on the purple track as athletes from around the world gather to compete on this innovative surface. As the countdown to the Games begins, anticipation is building for what promises to be a thrilling showcase of athletic talent on Mondo’s cutting-edge track.
