New Cycling Studio R1de Opens in Fairfield, CT
Fairfield Residents Open New Cycling Studio After Closure of Popular Spot
FAIRFIELD, CT — Last fall, Fairfield residents Matt and Tracy Lawlor were devastated when their favorite cycling studio, Cyclebar, closed its doors in the Sportsplex development. Determined to keep the spirit of indoor cycling alive in their community, the couple took matters into their own hands and decided to open their own cycling studio.
After six months of hard work and dedication, R1de, Fairfield’s newest cycling studio, has officially opened its doors in the same location as the former Cyclebar. With 44 bikes and a variety of training classes for all skill levels, R1de aims to provide a welcoming and inclusive space for riders of all ages.
The studio offers four categories of classes, including the signature “One R1de” with high-energy music and choreography, “Hiit 1T” for strength and recovery, “Quick Cl1p” for a shortened workout, and “S1xty” for an extended 60-minute ride. Pricing options range from $109 per month for four workouts to $209 per month for unlimited rides with perks.
In an effort to build a strong community around the studio, the Lawlors are offering three free rides for a week to new customers. They want riders to feel comfortable and at home when they come in, providing amenities such as towels, lockers, and showers for convenience.
The grand opening of R1de was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by local officials, including First Selectman Bill Gerber and Community & Economic Development Director Mark Barnhart. Barnhart expressed his support for the new venture, noting that the closure of one business can create opportunities for others.
R1de is now open for business at 85 Mill Plain Road in Fairfield, welcoming riders of all levels to experience the thrill of indoor cycling in a supportive and community-oriented environment.
