Danielle Collins Secures Second Consecutive Title in Charleston, Dominating Daria Kasatkina 6-2 6-1
After winning the Miami Open, Danielle Collins continued her impressive form by securing a second consecutive title in Charleston, overwhelming Daria Kasatkina 6-2 6-1 in the final. The American tennis player, who had announced her intention to retire at the end of the season, is now on the best run of her career.
Collins entered the final on a 12-match winning streak, having recently clinched the Miami Open title. Despite the grueling schedule of playing her 13th match in 19 days, Collins showed no signs of slowing down. From the start of the match, it was clear that the result was never in doubt as Collins took an early break in the first set and continued to dominate throughout the match.
In the second set, Collins once again broke early and quickly built a commanding 5-0 lead. Although Kasatkina managed to claw back a game, she could not stop Collins from claiming victory. In the final game, Collins gave herself three match points and sealed the win on the second attempt, securing back-to-back titles in impressive fashion.
Meanwhile, in Bogota, Camila Osorio delighted the home crowd by defeating Marie Bouzkova 6-3 7-6 (7-5) to win the Copa Colsanitas. Osorio showed great determination and composure, overcoming a tough challenge from Bouzkova to claim the championship.
