LSG Bowlers Shine Again as Lucknow Super Giants Defend 164 Runs to Secure Third Consecutive Victory in IPL 2024

Lucknow Super Giants continued their winning streak in the IPL 2024 with a convincing 33-run victory over Gujarat Titans in a thrilling encounter in New Delhi. Chasing 164 runs, Gujarat Titans faltered in their pursuit and were bowled out for 130, thanks to an exceptional bowling performance by LSG.

The match saw Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill acknowledging his team’s poor batting display on a good batting wicket. Despite getting off to a decent start, Gujarat Titans suffered a middle-order collapse from which they could never recover. Gill praised his bowlers for restricting LSG to a below-par total but lamented the absence of David Miller due to injury.

On the other hand, LSG’s all-rounder Marcus Stoinis played a crucial role in setting up the victory with a fine half-century, supported by skipper KL Rahul and Nicholas Pooran. Their batting effort was complemented by pacer Yash Thakur, who picked up a fifer to dismantle the Gujarat Titans’ batting lineup.

Gill’s dismissal during the last over of the powerplay proved to be a turning point in the match, as LSG capitalized on the opportunity and never let Gujarat Titans off the hook. With this win, Lucknow Super Giants have firmly established themselves as a strong contender in the IPL 2024, while Gujarat Titans will need to regroup and come back stronger in their upcoming matches.
