Pakistan Cricket Team Gears Up for T20I Series Against New Zealand After Intensive Fitness Camp
The Pakistan cricket team, under the leadership of Captain Babar Azam, is gearing up for their upcoming five-match T20I series against New Zealand with newfound confidence and resilience following an intensive 11-day fitness camp conducted by trainers from the Pakistan Army.
A total of 29 Men in Green players actively participated in the training camp held in Kakul, where they engaged in tailored training sessions and drills crafted by Pakistan Army experts and strategists. Captain Babar Azam expressed his satisfaction with the camp, stating that the focus on physical conditioning, teamwork, and mental resilience will make the team better, fitter, and mentally tougher athletes.
“This camp proves exceptionally valuable given the upcoming cricket fixtures. It not only mitigates injury risks but also augments both individual skills and collective team performance,” Babar said in a video posted by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
All-rounder Imad Wasim, who reversed his retirement decision to join the camp, also shared his positive experience, stating that the training sessions and drills were different from cricket-related training but will benefit the team in match situations.
“The time in Kakul was crucial for team bonding. Growing closer to each other will undoubtedly play a significant role in our performances,” Imad added.
With the T20I series set to kick off in Rawalpindi on April 18, the Pakistan team is looking forward to showcasing their improved physical and mental strength on the field. Fans can expect a more resilient and competitive performance from the Men in Green as they take on New Zealand in the upcoming series.
