Rising Star Dulcy Caylor Shines in Gymnastics Training with Simone Biles

Simone Biles‘ parents don’t just make sure their daughter gets everything she needs on her way to the top. Running the World Champions Center, the Biles family also tries their best to help more rising stars find their footing in the highly competitive gymnastics foray. And it looks like, one of Simone’s training partners, Dulcy Caylor, is making the most of the opportunities.

As if the anticipation for the Olympics weren’t enough by itself! With the National Training Camp witnessing the country’s top talents flexing their skills, fans are bracing up for an incredibly thrilling showdown in Paris later this year. On top of that new faces are coming forward assuring fans that the baton for the USA’s dominant status in world gymnastics can be carried with more than enough proficiency by future generations.

A recent post on X (formerly known as Twitter) by the official USA Gymnastics account has fans reeling from an unexpected surprise. “Soooooo… who wants to see some scores from those who verified for assignments!?” reads the caption of the post, teasing fans about what’s on the table for the upcoming Paris Olympics. The accompanying chart shows Caylor topping the seniors’ table with an impressive 52.950 points to her name after throwing her best in eight events.

Now considering Caylor is only 17, her numbers are quite impressive. On the other hand, prominent names like Katelyn Jong and Reese Esponda are much lower on the table. Undoubtedly, Caylor’s performance is worth noting and it would seem like her training sessions in close contact with Simone Biles have paid off considerably.

The April selection event will determine the national roster for two upcoming international events, and scoring 13.900 on the vault only bolstered her claim for a spot in Team USA. Only last month, Caylor stated that although she doesn’t think she’s at par with the country’s most decorated gymnast, she wanted to show the world that she’s not far behind. And from the looks of things, she isn’t fairing too bad either.

The City of Jesolo Trophy Senior and the Pacific Rim Championships are just around the corner, and the teenager had to up her game. Caylor’s 2024 season started off strongly. She clarified with Olympics.com about the changes she had to bring to her routine to ensure her time as a senior athlete didn’t get stalled by repeating the same routines from her junior events. “This first senior elite season was a major wake-up call for me because I didn’t work smart enough“, stated Caylor. She also bagged a bronze medal in the vault event at the recently concluded Winter Cup 2024 showcasing her talent.

Along with finishing fifth overall at the Winter Cup, Caylor is also eyeing the upcoming Olympics as the perfect chance to announce her arrival to the world. “I’m very happy I get to compete for Team USA and get that experience as many meets as I can“, said Caylor in an interview with Olympics.com. Now, with her newfound confidence, it waits to be seen if she can etch her name among the country’s best figures in the coming months as the world waits for the grand showdown in Europe.
