IPL Match Recap: Jos Buttler and Virat Kohli Score Centuries as Rajasthan Defeat Bengaluru

In a thrilling match in the IPL on Saturday, Jos Buttler and Virat Kohli both showcased their batting prowess by scoring centuries for their respective teams. Kohli, the captain of Royal Challengers Bengaluru, anchored his team to a total of 183-3 with a magnificent unbeaten 113 off 72 balls, including 12 boundaries and four sixes. This was Kohli’s eighth IPL century, equaling his highest score, and came at a venue where he had previously struggled in T20s.

On the other side, Jos Buttler, playing for Rajasthan Royals, secured his own unbeaten century off just 58 balls. Buttler, along with captain Sanju Samson, put on a brilliant 148-run partnership for the second wicket, helping Rajasthan reach 189-4 in 19.1 overs. This victory marked Rajasthan’s fourth straight win in the IPL, while Bengaluru suffered their fourth loss in five games.

Buttler, who was playing his 100th IPL game, was thrilled to reach his century in the final over with a powerful pull shot for six. His innings featured nine boundaries and four sixes, showcasing his exceptional batting form.

Kohli and RCB captain Faf du Plessis had earlier put on a solid 125-run opening stand, but the Rajasthan bowlers, led by Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal, managed to keep the runs in check in the middle overs. Chahal eventually broke the century partnership by dismissing Du Plessis, and Rajasthan’s spin attack proved to be too much for Bengaluru in the death overs.

Overall, it was a thrilling match that highlighted the batting brilliance of both Buttler and Kohli. Fans can continue to enjoy the action of the IPL live on Sky Sports Cricket, with the final set to take place on May 26.
