Cal Lutheran Athletics has announced some exciting changes and additions to its coaching staff and programs. Howard Davis has been named the director of athletics, bringing a wealth of experience and a passion for integrating athletics and academics to the role. Davis, an alum of Cal Lutheran, is committed to improving equity within higher education and enhancing programs for women in sports.
In addition to Davis, Erik Scherer has been promoted to head baseball coach after a successful tenure as an assistant coach. Scherer, a Cal Lutheran alum, led the team to a second straight SCIAC Tournament Championship in 2022 and has a strong track record of success in the program.
Tim Settem has also joined the Cal Lutheran Athletics team as the head coach for the men’s and women’s water polo programs. Settem brings a wealth of experience and success from coaching at various collegiate and club levels, and he is excited to elevate the water polo programs at Cal Lutheran.

Lastly, the Kingsmen Golf team made history at the CA State Intercollegiate tournament, with Adam Cartozian setting a program record with his impressive performance. The team won the tournament, and Cartozian took home the individual title with a record-breaking score.
