Denver Women to Open 99ers Sports Bar Catering to Women’s Athletics Fans

Denver, Colo. – Miranda Spencer and Annie Weaver are making waves in the sports industry with their upcoming venture, the 99ers bar. The duo, who met while playing flag football, are not only teammates but also business partners who are on a mission to open Denver’s first sports bar catering primarily to women’s athletics.

Located at 909 E. Colfax Avenue, the 99ers bar is a dream come true for Spencer and Weaver. The idea for the bar came about on the way home from a flag football game, with Weaver proposing the concept and Spencer immediately jumping on board.

Inspired by the 1999 U.S. Women’s Soccer Team, which won the World Cup, Spencer and Weaver named their bar the 99ers. Growing up playing sports, the duo often struggled to find a spot that broadcasted women’s sports games. This lack of representation fueled their desire to create a space where women’s athletics could be celebrated and enjoyed.

With the rise of women’s professional sports and the increasing viewership of women’s NCAA games, the timing couldn’t be better for the 99ers bar. Weaver and Spencer are excited to be a part of the movement and hope to inspire young athletes by providing them with role models who look like them on TV.

Currently in the midst of construction, the 99ers bar is set to open in June. Despite the limited space in the former barbershop location, the duo plans to accommodate around 30 people at a time.

As the opening date approaches, all eyes are on Spencer and Weaver as they work tirelessly to bring their vision to life. The 99ers bar is sure to be a game-changer in the world of sports bars, offering a unique and inclusive experience for fans of women’s athletics in Denver.
