“Superior Central Baseball Team Focuses on Senior Leadership and Defense for 2024 Season”

The Superior Central baseball team is gearing up for the 2024 season with a focus on senior leadership and solid defense. After finishing the 2023 season with a 7-17 record and a tough loss in the district championship game, the Cougars are looking to bounce back and make a statement this year.

Head coach Greg Mannisto is optimistic about the team’s chances, citing the strong finish to last season as a building block for success. With a core group of senior pitchers, including Blake Walther, Trent Rutter, Jason Kanerva, and Bradly VanDamme, the Cougars have a solid rotation that will keep opposing hitters on their toes.

Walther, in particular, has been a standout on the mound with his deceptive curveball that has baffled hitters. Mannisto praised Walther’s ability to keep hitters off balance and expects him to continue his dominance this season.
