Stephen Hendry’s Opinion on Ronnie O’Sullivan’s Performances This Season: ‘Derogatory’

Snooker legend Stephen Hendry has sparked controversy by admitting that his recent comments about Ronnie O’Sullivan’s performances this season could be seen as ‘derogatory’. The Scot described O’Sullivan as a ‘percentage player’ during the Tour Championship in Manchester, a term that some may interpret as negative.

Despite the criticism, O’Sullivan has been in fine form, winning five tournaments this season, including the UK Championship and Masters. He recently defeated Ali Carter 10-2 in the quarter-finals of the Tour Championship and will now face Gary Wilson in the semi-finals.

Hendry praised O’Sullivan’s ability to get the job done, even when not at his best, highlighting his strong safety play and scoring prowess. However, he also expressed frustration with O’Sullivan’s rivals for not taking advantage of his occasional lapses in form.

O’Sullivan, on the other hand, has opened up about his mental struggles and revealed that he has sought help from psychiatrist Dr. Steve Peters to address his issues. The Rocket admitted that he has been driving himself ‘insane’ trying to find his form and is now focused on getting his head right to improve his game.

As O’Sullivan continues to compete at the Tour Championship, fans will be eager to see if he can maintain his winning streak and overcome any mental obstacles to secure another title. With Hendry’s comments adding fuel to the fire, the rivalry between the two snooker legends is sure to keep fans on the edge of their seats.
