Outlook for Gonzaga Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams in 2024-25 Season

The Gonzaga Bulldogs basketball program is gearing up for what looks to be an exciting 2024-25 season. With both the men’s and women’s teams coming off impressive Sweet Sixteen runs in the NCAA Tournament, there is a lot to look forward to for fans of the Zags.

On the men’s side, the team is set to return most of its core players from this past season, with the addition of standout transfer Michael Ajayi from Pepperdine. Ajayi, who led the WCC in scoring, will provide a significant boost to the team’s frontcourt. Additionally, sharpshooter Steele Venters is set to return from injury, adding another dimension to the team’s offense.

With a strong core of returning players and key additions, the men’s team is poised for a dominant season ahead. The coaching staff has shown their ability to adjust and develop players throughout the season, making them a formidable force in the upcoming campaign.

On the women’s side, the team is facing a bit of a rebuild after losing several key players to graduation. However, the return of star player Yvonne Ejim, who was recently named the Becky Hammon National Player of the Year, provides a solid foundation for the team moving forward.

In addition to Ejim, important rotation players like Maud Huijbens, Calli Stokes, and Esther Little are set to return, ensuring that the team will have some continuity despite the departures. The addition of talented freshmen like Christabel Osarobo, Allie Turner, and Lauren Whittaker will also help bolster the team’s depth and provide new opportunities for growth.

Overall, both the men’s and women’s teams at Gonzaga are looking ahead to a promising season filled with potential and excitement. With strong cores of returning players, key additions, and talented newcomers, the Zags are ready to make their mark in the upcoming season.
