Sebastian Vettel Considering Return to Formula 1
In an exclusive interview with Sky Sports News, Sebastian Vettel revealed that he is contemplating a return to Formula 1. The four-time world champion retired in 2022 after a successful 16-season career in the sport but has been in talks with Mercedes boss Toto Wolff and other team principals about a potential comeback.
With Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari creating a vacancy at Mercedes, Vettel could be eyeing a seat with the Silver Arrows. Additionally, his former team, Red Bull, may also have an opening with Sergio Perez’s contract expiring.
Vettel expressed his thoughts on the possibility of returning, stating, “I retired from Formula 1 not to come back, but I also did say that you never know. So I think it still stands.” He highlighted the aspects of competition that he misses and acknowledged that life outside of racing has its own appeal.
The German driver has been exploring other opportunities as well, including testing the Porsche hypercar for the upcoming 24 Hours of Le Mans race. Vettel admitted that the thrill and speed of racing are what he misses the most and hinted at a potential debut in the prestigious endurance event.
Reflecting on Hamilton’s surprising move to Ferrari, Vettel shared his thoughts, saying, “I was surprised, like I guess most of us. But exciting. Obviously, he’s looking for a new challenge and it will be different to see him in red, in a different color.”
As Vettel considers his options for a return to Formula 1, fans eagerly await his decision and the potential for another chapter in his illustrious career. Stay tuned for more updates on Vettel’s future in the world of motorsport.
