Fox Sports and AEG Announce College Basketball Crown Tournament in Las Vegas

In an exciting development for college basketball fans, Fox Sports and AEG have announced the launch of a new postseason tournament, the College Basketball Crown. Set to take place in Las Vegas from March 31-April 6, 2025, this tournament will feature 16 teams, including at least two from the Big East, Big 12, and Big Ten conferences.

With the NCAA Tournament rights locked up by CBS and Warner Bros. Discovery, Fox Sports saw an opportunity to create their own tournament to attract viewers during the week leading up to the Final Four. The College Basketball Crown will provide schools that don’t make the NCAA Tournament with a chance to compete in a high-quality postseason event.

Fox Sports executive vp Jordan Bazant expressed his excitement about the new tournament, stating, “Postseason college basketball is one of the most exciting times of year, and Fox Sports is proud to be at the forefront of efforts to evolve and elevate the sport.” AEG chief revenue officer Todd Goldstein also shared his enthusiasm, highlighting the unique experience the College Basketball Crown will offer to fans and the global sports landscape.

With schools from the Big East, Big 12, and Big Ten conferences earning a significant number of bids to the NCAA Tournament and NIT this year, the College Basketball Crown is sure to feature top-tier competition. Fans can look forward to thrilling matchups and intense competition as teams vie for the inaugural title.

As the tournament approaches, anticipation is building for what promises to be a memorable event in the world of college basketball. Stay tuned for more updates on the College Basketball Crown and get ready to witness the chase for the crown in Las Vegas.
