Gloucester to Face Sharks in Challenge Cup Final at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium – May 24, 2024

Gloucester Rugby is set to face off against South African side Sharks in the Challenge Cup final at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, May 24. The Cherry and Whites secured their spot in the final after a convincing 40-23 victory over Italian team Benetton in the semi-finals.

This will be Gloucester’s fifth appearance in the Challenge Cup final, having previously won the competition in 2005/06 and 2014/15. Despite a challenging season in the Gallagher Premiership, where they have only managed four wins in 16 games, Gloucester are now aiming to add another trophy to their cabinet after winning the Premiership Rugby Cup in March.

Fly-half Adam Hastings played a pivotal role in Gloucester’s semi-final victory, scoring 17 points with a try, three conversions, and two penalties. Other try-scorers for Gloucester included Josh Hathaway, Seb Blake, Freddie Clarke, and Ollie Thorley, with Caolan Englefield adding a penalty late in the game.

On the other hand, Sharks secured their place in the final with a thrilling 32-31 win over French side Clermont. The South African team staged a remarkable comeback in the final quarter, with Vincent Koch and Makazole Mapimpi scoring crucial tries to seal the victory.

Rugby fans can look forward to an exciting final showdown between Gloucester and Sharks, as both teams will be eager to lift the Challenge Cup trophy. The match promises to be a thrilling encounter between two talented sides, and rugby enthusiasts will not want to miss out on the action at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
