Hockey Haryana and Hockey Maharashtra emerge victorious in National Women’s Hockey League 2024-25

In an intense showdown at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Astroturf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi, Jharkhand, Hockey Haryana and Hockey Maharashtra emerged victorious in their respective matches during the National Women’s Hockey League 2024-25 (Phase 1).

Hockey Haryana faced off against Hockey Mizoram in a thrilling encounter that ended with a 2-1 victory for Hockey Haryana. Captain Neelam led her team to victory with a crucial penalty corner conversion in the second quarter, giving them the lead at halftime. Despite a strong effort from Hockey Mizoram, including a field goal from Vanlalrinhlui, a late goal from Pinki secured the win for Hockey Haryana.

In the second match of the day, Hockey Maharashtra took on Hockey Bengal and came out on top with a 2-1 win. Aishwarya Dubey opened the scoring for Hockey Maharashtra with a penalty corner conversion, but Hockey Bengal quickly equalized with a goal from Jamuna Ekka. However, Tanushree Dinesh Kadu’s field goal in the final quarter sealed the victory for Hockey Maharashtra.

The action continues in the National Women’s Hockey League 2024-25, with Manipur Hockey set to face the Hockey Association of Odisha, and Hockey Jharkhand going up against Hockey Madhya Pradesh in the upcoming matches.
