Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Michael Kogan Honored for Decades of Service to Jacobs High School

Dr. Michael Kogan may not have been a star athlete growing up in Skokie, but his dedication to sports and helping young athletes has earned him a well-deserved spot in the Jacobs High School Athletic Hall of Fame.

Despite not excelling in sports during his youth, Kogan found his passion for athletic competition through golf, enjoying weekends on the course with friends. However, it was his selfless service to the Jacobs High School football team that truly set him apart.

For almost three decades, Kogan has been a familiar face on the sidelines, providing medical assistance and support to the players. His commitment to the team and the community has not gone unnoticed, as he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2022 for his invaluable contributions.

“It’s my way of giving back to the community,” Kogan humbly stated. “I’ve never been the athlete that was going to be inducted into any hall of fame based on my athletic pursuits. To have this bestowed upon me was a tremendous honor.”

Kogan’s presence has had a significant impact on the Jacobs High School athletic program, with coaches, players, and staff all praising his expertise and dedication. His calming presence on the sidelines and commitment to getting players back on the field safely have made him an invaluable asset to the team.

As a respected orthopedic surgeon with Fox Valley Orthopedics, Kogan’s passion for helping others, especially young athletes, shines through in his work. Whether it’s treating injuries on the field or providing ongoing care, Kogan’s dedication to his community is truly commendable.

In a world where sports heroes are often celebrated for their on-field achievements, Dr. Michael Kogan stands out as a hero in his own right, making a difference in the lives of young athletes and the community he serves.
