European Ryder Cup Stars Set to Reunite at 2024 Genesis Scottish Open
The 2024 Genesis Scottish Open is set to be a star-studded event with European Ryder Cup stars Ludvig Åberg, Tommy Fleetwood, and Viktor Hovland reuniting on the course. The tournament, part of the prestigious Rolex Series, will take place at the Renaissance Club from July 11-14, 2024, and will also feature top players such as Matt Fitzpatrick, Justin Rose, Justin Thomas, and defending champion Rory McIlroy.
Åberg, coming off a runner-up finish at his Major debut at the Masters, is in top form as he returns to Scotland’s national open. The Swede had a remarkable 2023 season, claiming wins on both the DP World Tour and PGA TOUR, as well as making history at the Ryder Cup in Italy.
Hovland, who partnered with Åberg in the successful Ryder Cup campaign, ended 2023 on a high note by winning the FedEx Cup on the PGA TOUR. With multiple wins on both tours, the Norwegian is looking to add another Rolex Series victory to his resume.
Fleetwood, a two-time Ryder Cup champion, is also in contention at the Genesis Scottish Open after a strong start to the season. The Englishman, who finished tied third at the Masters, is aiming to secure his second title of the year at the tournament.
The Genesis Scottish Open, co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and PGA TOUR, promises to be an exciting event with the top players from both tours competing for the prestigious title. With Åberg, Hovland, and Fleetwood leading the charge, golf fans can expect a thrilling competition at the Renaissance Club in July.
