Globant and Formula 1 Join Forces to Enhance Digital Experiences for Teams and Fans
In a groundbreaking move, software development firm Globant has announced a multiyear partnership with Formula 1 to revolutionize the digital experiences of F1 teams and fans at races worldwide. This collaboration aims to elevate the technological capabilities of the sport and create innovative solutions for both the teams and the millions of fans who attend races each year.
Globant CEO Martin Migoya expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating, “This puts us in a place where we want to be, which is connecting with the most technologically advanced sport on the planet and be able to cooperate and co-create technology together with them.”
The first project of this collaboration will focus on enhancing the current pit wall system, which provides crucial information to racing teams through various camera angles and audio feeds. Additionally, a long-term project will focus on improving the guest experience at the tracks, with a special emphasis on developing a more interactive mobile application for fans to use during races.
Formula 1 director of strategic technical ventures, Pete Samara, emphasized the importance of innovation and fan engagement in the sport, stating, “We’re always striving as a brand to innovate with the fans at the center of that.” He highlighted the selective nature of F1’s technical partnerships, noting that they seek partners who can truly make a difference.
Globant, known for its work with global brands such as Google and Electronic Arts, has also ventured into the sports industry with partnerships in FIFA, Major League Rugby, and LaLiga. With a track record of success and a commitment to innovation, Globant is poised to make a significant impact on the digital landscape of Formula 1.
As Migoya aptly put it, “Sports is where the passion of people is. We are trying to reinvent our industry, and we are willing to play with all these sports that are willing to reinvent themselves.” With this new partnership, both Globant and Formula 1 are set to revolutionize the digital experience of the sport for years to come.
