AB de Villiers Praises Virat Kohli as One of the Greatest Players in History

Former South African cricketer AB de Villiers has heaped praise on Indian and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batsman Virat Kohli, calling him one of the greatest players in history. In the ongoing IPL 2024, Kohli has been in exceptional form, emerging as the second-highest run-scorer with 500 runs in ten matches at a strike rate of 147.49. His aggressive batting style has seen him hit 20 sixes and 46 fours in the current T20 tournament.

De Villiers expressed his frustration with critics who have been targeting Kohli’s strike rate, stating that the Indian skipper is one of the best players to ever grace the game of cricket. The former Proteas player lauded Kohli’s incredible performances in the IPL and defended his role in the RCB team.

In the recent game between RCB and GT, Kohli showcased his brilliance with a blistering unbeaten knock of 70 runs off 44 balls, helping his team secure a crucial victory. The 33-year-old batsman also achieved a milestone of 24 half-centuries while chasing a target, placing him second on the list behind David Warner.

Kohli’s consistent performances have seen him equal Warner’s record for the most IPL seasons with 500 or more runs, with both players achieving the feat seven times. With his exceptional batting skills and unwavering determination, Kohli continues to prove himself as a force to be reckoned with in the world of cricket.
