Jamestown Jackals Host No-Cost Basketball Clinic for Area Youth

The Jamestown Jackals, a local basketball team, recently hosted a no-cost basketball clinic for over 40 area youth at the Busti Church of God. The clinic, organized by Integrity First, a nonprofit organization that owns The Basketball League franchise team, aimed to provide young players with an opportunity to improve their skills and learn valuable life lessons.

Head coach Ronald “Radio” Singleton emphasized the importance of hard work and dedication to the participants, encouraging them to stay in school, stay out of trouble, and practice their basketball skills daily. The clinic featured various basketball stations focusing on essential skills to help the participants become better players.

Parents were equally thrilled with the event, with one mother, Stephanie Monn, expressing her support for more community investment in programs like this rather than in skate parks and splash pads that may be vandalized. Her daughter, Remy Monn, a student in the Jamestown Public School System, shared her enthusiasm for the Jamestown Jackals and her desire to improve her basketball skills to one day play for Jamestown High School.

Remy’s dedication to the sport was evident as she expressed her goal of making the varsity team in high school and her willingness to put in the work now. The clinic not only provided a fun and educational experience for the young participants but also inspired them to strive for excellence in both basketball and life.

Overall, the Jamestown Jackals’ basketball clinic was a success, bringing together the community and empowering young players to pursue their dreams on and off the court. With the support of organizations like Integrity First and dedicated coaches like Ronald Singleton, the future looks bright for aspiring basketball players in Jamestown.
