Tiger Woods Opens Up About Daughter’s Disinterest in Golf
Tiger Woods, the golfing legend, recently opened up about his daughter’s lack of interest in the sport that made him a household name. In an interview with Carson Daly on the “Today” show, Tiger revealed that his 16-year-old daughter, Sam Woods, isn’t a fan of golf because it “took Daddy away from her.”
Tiger explained that due to the extensive traveling and time commitments that golf required of him when Sam was younger, she developed a negative connotation towards the game. Despite this, Sam has shown support for her father’s career by caddying for him at the PNC Championship and giving a speech at his Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
However, Tiger made it clear that Sam has no interest in learning how to play golf like her father. Instead, they have developed a relationship outside of the sport, engaging in activities that don’t involve golf. On the other hand, Tiger has a strong golf-related bond with his 15-year-old son, Charlie Woods, whom he has partnered with at the PNC Championship.
Looking ahead, Tiger expressed his desire to compete in all three remaining Major Championships in 2024, despite feeling sore after the Masters in April. While his daughter may not share his passion for golf, Tiger continues to nurture his relationship with both of his children, finding common ground and shared interests with each of them.
