Northern Ireland Football League Partners with DAZN for Women’s Premiership Broadcasting Deal
The Northern Ireland Football League has made a historic announcement, revealing a major broadcasting deal with the renowned sports entertainment platform DAZN. This groundbreaking agreement will see DAZN become the new home of live action from the Sports Direct Women’s Premiership for the next three years, showcasing the women’s top flight to fans worldwide.
With a significant increase in attendances of 66% in the league last year, the new season is set to kick off this Sunday, May 5. The opening live game on DAZN will feature reigning champions Glentoran Women defending their title at home against Crusaders Strikers at Blanchflower Stadium with a 4pm kick-off.
Gerard Lawlor, CEO of the NI Football League, expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating, “This is a landmark announcement for our league. The partnership will include five exclusive live games, as well as highlights, interviews, and features from the NI Football League, all available on DAZN throughout the season at no cost to audiences. Additionally, DAZN will collaborate with NIFL on bespoke social media content and campaigns to further engage fans.
