LIV Golf Announces Location for Individual Championship: Bolingbrook Golf Club in Illinois
LIV Golf has officially announced the location for its upcoming individual championship, set to take place at Bolingbrook Golf Club in Bolingbrook, Illinois. The Saudi-backed league revealed that the event will run from September 13-15, making it the penultimate event of the season.
Greg Norman, LIV Golf’s commissioner and CEO, expressed his excitement about bringing the intense competition to the passionate sports fans of Chicago. He highlighted the fan-first experience that LIV Golf offers and emphasized the high stakes as players compete for the individual title and a spot on the roster for the following season.
Bolingbrook Golf Club, designed by Arthur Hills and Steve Forrest, boasts a challenging layout with notable features such as an island green on the par-3 15th hole and a 600-yard par-5 on the 5th hole. Despite facing financial struggles in the past, the public can now enjoy a round of golf at the course for around $60, with GolfNow rating it an impressive 4.7 out of 5.
While the event marks a departure from the previous two seasons held at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, LIV Golf’s decision to move to Bolingbrook Golf Club was made to avoid disrupting the club’s membership. Rich Harvest Farms general manager Jonathan Meagher expressed his support for LIV Golf’s continued presence in the Chicagoland area.
As the season progresses, LIV Golf has yet to announce the location for its season-ending team championship. However, reports suggest that Maridoe Golf Club in Carrollton, Texas, is a strong contender to host the finale from September 20-22. Golf fans can look forward to more thrilling competition as the season unfolds.
